Self-priming filter gas mask: It relies on the wearer’s breathing to overcome the resistance of the components, and protects against toxic, harmful gases or vapors, particles (such as toxic smoke, toxic fog) and other hazards to its respiratory system or eyes and face. It mainly relies on the filter box to purify the pollutants in the air into clean air for the human body to breathe.
According to the material filled in the filter box, the anti-virus principle is as follows:
1. Activated carbon adsorption: Activated carbon is made of charcoal burned from wood, fruit and seeds, and then processed by steam and chemical agents. This activated carbon is a particle with a void structure of different sizes, when the gas or steam accumulates on the surface of the activated carbon particle or in the micropore volume, this phenomenon is called adsorption. This adsorption is carried out gradually until the gas or steam fills the micropore volume of the activated carbon, that is, it is completely saturated, and the gas and steam can penetrate the activated carbon layer.
2. Chemical reaction: It is a method of purifying the air by using chemical absorbers to produce chemical reactions with toxic gases and steam. Depending on the gas and vapor, different chemical absorbers are used to produce decomposition, neutralization, complex, oxidation or reduction reactions.
3. Catalyst action: For example, the process of converting CO into CO2 with Hopcalite as a catalyst, the catalytic reaction of carbon monoxide into carbon dioxide occurs on the surface of Hopcalite. When water vapor interacts with the Hopcalite, its activity decreases, depending on the temperature and concentration of carbon monoxide. The higher the temperature, the less effect water vapor has on Hopcalite. Therefore, in order to prevent the effect of water vapor on the Hopcalite, in the carbon monoxide gas mask, the desiccant (such as Carbon Dioxide absorbent) is used to prevent moisture, and the Hopcalite is placed between two layers of desiccant.
